Passport Photo Requirements & Guidelines

• We provide passport, visa, and ID photos for Canadian passports, US visas, PR cards, and other official documents

• All photos are processed to meet government standards for size, background, and formatting

• We ensure compliance with official photo requirements to avoid rejection issues

How Long Does It Take to Get Passport Photos in Calgary?

Photos are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Adults: approximately 10–15 minutes per person

• Children: please allow up to 20 minutes extra depending on cooperation and passport photo requirements

Wait times may vary depending on studio traffic.

 

What Is the Difference Between a Reprint and a New Passport Photo?

Passport Photo Reprint : A reprint applies when you already have a properly formatted passport photo taken by us within the valid time frame and only need additional printed copies. No new photo session is required.

• $10 + tax for 2 printed photos​

New Passport Photo (Resize) : If you provide an existing image that requires cropping, or resizing, it is treated as a new passport service.

This includes:

• Changing photo size for different country requirements (Canada, US, EU, PR cards, etc.)

• Cropping and formatting adjustments

Important: Only digital images taken by us are eligible for resizing service. 

Passport photo requirements vary by country and are not always interchangeable.

• Photos from one document type may not meet requirements for another

• If requirements do not match, a new passport photo session is required

• Some conversions (e.g. EU visa → Canadian passport) are not possible due to strict government specifications

In these cases, we recommend taking a new photo that meets the correct Canadian passport requirements.

What to Wear for Passport Photos

• Avoid white, light grey, or pale-colored tops (they may blend into the background)

• Avoid hats unless required for religious or medical reasons

• Avoid sparkly or reflective accessories

• Face must be fully visible (no hair covering eyes or face)

 

Baby & Child Passport Photos

• We only provide baby passport photos for children 1 year and older

• Baby’s mouth must be closed (bring a pacifier or small item if needed)

• A white blanket is recommended to help with positioning and background support

• Extra time may be required depending on cooperation​​​​
